| PREREQUISITES |
- Minimum of 4 year college degree. Students working on their college degree may attend but must have completed a college degree before full Montessori Elementary certification can be awarded.
- Early Childhood Montessori Certification (21/2-6) or 45 clock hours of Montessori Early Childhood prerequisite.
- Students should be proficient and fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the English language or may be requested to take additional college English classes before certification is granted.
- Students may be asked to take the Wonderlic Test to assess the ability to benefit from the course if they do not hold a college diploma.

The Elementary Training Course is a serious commitment to study, practice, and material making. Students will complete the following hours of course requirements.

| Independent Study Written Assignments |
250 hours are dedicated for written assignments, material making, and a research project.
|
| Academic Workshops |
Lectures, presentation of materials, practice time, and testing are covered in 360 contact hours at the training center.
|
| Practicum |
The intern will spend 1080 hours in an approved practicum site as a Montessori apprentice under the guidance of the Training Center Field Supervisor, Supervising Montessori Mentor Teacher, and School Administrator.
Total Clock Hours 1690.
|
| Certification |
Upon completion of all requirements, the student is awarded an AMS Elementary I Montessori Education Credential (Ages 6-9).
|
| Evaluation |
Review and oral and written exams over philosophy and materials.

Field Supervisor travel expenses apply for students living outside the Atlanta Metro area. The additional fee is based upon mileage.
Hotels are located within walking distance. Rates are weekly or monthly. Contact the Training office for housing information. The student pays housing costs.
